This litter carries some impressive blood lines from some of mushing greats. Mango was the smallest and fluffiest of the Ice Cream crew. He had a funny temperament early on as timid, insecure and quite challenging to handle youngster. With a gentle approach, Mango has matured into a reliable, impressive leader! Quite surprising, really. Mary ran him as a yearling in the Yukon Quest 150, and he surprised us all by leading the way for most of the race, keeping a brisk pace and eagerness that was a joy to witness. He also has the most incredible coat, dressed like a lion’s mane. Maybe that’s why he never chooses to sleep in his insulated house. Sigh.
He’ll be an A team dog this year for sure, and we can’t wait to see his progression.
