Raising Puppies

One of the most joyful times is when a new litter of pups is born. Each litter is carefully planned, choosing parents based on their characteristics as happy, strong-headed, good eating, healthy sled dogs.

Puppy life is all about introducing them to the world in a fun and safe way. They learn to explore different terrain, run and play as a pack, and generally cause chaos.

We introduce them to harness when they about 10-12 months old. These runs are very short, and are just to introduce them to running in this way. It is always amazing how quickly they figure it out.

Puppies will start training by about 1 1/2 years and will have their first racing season around age 18-20 months.
